The 2020 retail calendar

Topic: Marketing, Retail

Despite the End of Financial Year sales which helped drive up overall sales in the month, online retail sales fell 1.6% month on month in June (source). Figures from previous months haven’t been great either. But as we enter into the second half of the year, some major sales seasons are coming our way, and hopefully we will see a surge in spending starting from the October quarter to give retailers a boost. Research on shopping trends revealed that consumers start researching and making purchase decisions months before the actual sales period. 30% of consumers, for instance, start researching products in October and November in preparation for the Boxing Day sales (source). This shows how important it is for retailers to start planning for the peak shopping season well in advance in order to make the most out of it. That’s why we’ve created this retail calendar so that retailers can bookmark all important dates and start planning their campaigns as early as possible.
