A peek at how RCS works – demo video

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the yearly event that shows off all the latest technology that we consumers will start to see in 2018 – from handsets to 5G to IoT. Esendex were there with Google and the GSMA (the worldwide body representing the interests of mobile network operators) to showcase the next generation of Business Messaging Solutions – Rich Communication Services (RCS).

While SMS is continuing to grow as a business communication channel, over the next few years it’s anticipated that it will evolve into something more resembling the features of an app. It will retain its key benefits of wide adoption, but offer much richer functionality in terms of branding, interactive media, and chatbot support. Esendex is proud to be a part of Google’s RCS Early Access Program – which means our customers will be some of the first to enjoy the benefits of RCS.

Here’s a video showing a snippet of what the team were up to in Barcelona for MWC as they demonstrated a customer journey for the leading online retailer Ocado using RCS capabilities.
