Which package size is best for me?

How does my subscription work?

Just like a mobile phone contract, you pay a fixed monthly fee in return for the certainty of having a number of features and messages included every month, based on your estimated level of usage.

How do I subscribe to a package?

As soon as you have opened an account online and logged in, please call us to set up your chosen subscription. It only takes a few minutes and you can begin to send it immediately!

Am I locked into a contract?

No. You are not locked into a contract. You will be billed monthly and can cancel your plan anytime, just like a music or TV streaming service. There are NO set up fees or additional monthly costs. Customer support is free.

Sending messages

How many messages can I send every month?

The mobile networks allow you to send up to 160 characters, including spaces, in one SMS message. This is called a message part or segment. We will deduct one message credit from your account, for every message segment you send.

For example, if your package includes 5,000 message credits and all of your messages are under 160 characters, you will therefore be able to send up to 5,000 messages.

Messages over 160 characters can be sent, but will count as more than one segment.

For example, if you sent a message with 200 characters, two message credits will be deducted from your account. When the customer receives your message, it will still appear as one single message.

What is the maximum number of characters I can include in an SMS?

When your text becomes a multi-segment message (see question above), the character limit reduces to 153 characters. The maximum number of characters you can include is therefore 612, which is four message segments (153 x 4 = 612).

If a message contains any non standard GSM characters, the maximum character length per segment is 70. This includes emojis.

How can I track the character count in my message?

When you type the message on the Esendex online platform, you will see the character count change and it will show you how many SMS credits it will use.

Tracking the number of messages sent

How can I keep track of how many message credits I have left?

As soon as you log into your Esendex account, you will see a counter at the top of your screen which shows how many message credits you have remaining.

Can I set up an alert telling me when I am close to using up my message credits?

Yes. To set up an email alert, log in and go to the Administration section, which you will find in the drop down menu at the top of your screen.

Set the threshold at which you want to receive the alert. For example, when you have 10 messages left, 25 or even 100….it’s up to you!

Need more messages?

What if I need more message credits?

No problem! Our aim is to provide you with the maximum amount of flexibility. You can continue to send and we will add the cost of any additional messages to your monthly bill at your agreed rate.

Alternatively, you can purchase any of the above message packages at any time, on an ad hoc basis. Please give us a call or email us and we will add the cost to your monthly bill.

Can I also buy more message credits from the Esendex online shop?

Yes. You can buy more message credits up front with a debit or credit card, through the online shop, but this will be more expensive. Whether you’re a subscription or a Pay As You Go (PAYG) customer, please call us to add any additional ad hoc purchases to your monthly bill.

Changing your subscription

Can I change the size of the package I buy every month?

Yes. Please call or email us and we will arrange this for you immediately.

How does the lower priced annual subscription work?

Exactly the same as the monthly rolling price. The only difference is that you pay the whole amount of the discounted annual subscription up front, meaning you will not receive a monthly bill for the cost of the package.

You will only receive a monthly bill if you send more messages than the number allowed for in your package, or purchase an additional package on an ad hoc basis.

What if I am unsure as to how many message credits I may need every month?

No problem. We understand that many customers have different requirements and sometimes constraints.

For example, maybe your budget only allows you to purchase once a quarter? Or maybe you have a peak period when you need more message credits available to you?

We have different payment options, from pre-paying for messages up front as and when you need them, to billing you for all messages sent at month end. Please give us a call.

What if my monthly requirement is greater than the largest pack size of 50,000 message credits?
