RAC Auto Windscreens and Esendex have developed a system that allows Fitting Centre Managers to automatically text messages to their Windscreen Fitters from their IT Systems with their allocated jobs.
RAC Auto Windscreens carries out over 750,000 jobs a year and has 800 mobile units working out of over 150 centres offering a 24 hour service. Communicating effectively with those teams created a logistical headache for managers. RAC Auto Windscreens and Esendex have developed a system that allows Fitting Centre Managers to automatically text messages to their Windscreen Fitters from their IT Systems with their allocated jobs.
The fitters then text back a simple code when they’ve arrived at a vehicle, again when they’ve fitted the windscreen and again once more when they are ready to head off to their next job. The responses automatically update the status of the jobs logged into the control centre computers so managers can quickly and easily monitor progress.
RAC Auto Windscreens Telecoms Manager Jim Lowe says:
