VIP Home Services switched to SMS provider Esendex to deliver their time sensitive SMS messages to their franchisees. Today the Customer Care Centre communicates with its 1000 franchises via the Esendex SMS API on a daily basis. |

VIP Home Services offer a range of services that help people with any requirements they might have for the home or office. Service areas covered include - lawns and gardens, home cleaning, commercial cleaning, carpet cleaning, handyman and property maintenance services.
The Customer Care Centre handles the inbound calls generated from National advertising campaigns. Once the call centre receives an inbound customer enquiry, the details are logged on the database then sent via SMS to the franchisees.
To work effectively, this process demands a reliable SMS service and fast message delivery but unfortunately they had some service quality issues with their previous SMS supplier and were encountering message delivery problems and delays.
As the service levels with the previous supplier were not high enough and were impacting on the service levels that the Customer Care Centre could provide to the franchisees, they were prompted to look for a new SMS supplier that fitted their requirements – excellence in service reliability and speed of delivery.
They chose to trial the Esendex SMS service to test for service reliability. After trialing the service, VIP Home Services went ahead and integrated their existing database with the Esendex SMS API, which allows the process for sending and receiving SMS to be integrated directly with the database. This automated the process for sending SMS to the franchisees. Chief Operating Officer, explains:
"We enter the client’s details into our database, and a batch program sweeps the tables every minute, converts the data to the right protocols and sends this info to the franchises via Esendex’s SMS gateway. We now have a consistent delivery service to our franchisees. The platform appears to be much more robust."
Switching SMS providers and using a new SMS API wasn’t too problematic either, once the software developers had been co-ordinated on both sides of the world (UK and Australia).
"It worked seamlessly, we were down a few minutes during the transition only."
