The church began on May 9, 1924 when the first Pentecostal service in Townsville baptising new converts was held. The church building has recently undergone major renovations and now proudly boasts a seating capacity of 1000 people as well as the full range of multi-media facilities; the Calvary Christian Church is now one of the city’s premier conference venues.
Although Calvary Christian Church had previously used SMS for communicating with their congregation, their previous SMS supplier could only offer a web-based tool of limited functionality and the cost of the message was prohibitively expensive. Typical communications include informing members of the church about an upcoming event or guest speaker and arranging meetings with various groups within the church.
